Rev. Sally McShane
“I am sincerely delighted to be joining you during this time in the life of your ministry. I know of your vision and the exciting plans God has for your future. I welcome any ideas about how I can be supportive.”
Sally loves worship; planning worship, sharing worship, teaming to plan worship, hearing others praying the power of Christ’s words alive. “Children are essential in worship. They remind us of the moment when Jesus said, “I tell all of you with certainty, unless you change and become like little children you will never be able to enter the Kingdom of heaven.” Unpacking the wisdom of that directive is central to our truth.
Rev. Sally received her Master of Divinity in 1992 at the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax, NS. and in 2002 she received her Masters in Pastoral and Spiritual Care from Emmanuel College in Toronto, Ont. Her majors were philosophy and theology and she continues to study these subjects.
She has been a chaplain, retreat leader, pastor, teacher and leader. She served at Knox United Church, First United Church Mission on the DTES, St. David’s United Church, St. Stephen’s United, Fraser Presbytery and B.C. Conference in this province and other churches in Nova Scotia. Her work has taken her into prisons, safe houses for Women and a Jewish Centre in Toronto.
Sally is the mother of three sons and grandma of two adorable pre-school boys. She has an international family. Her husband is from Dublin, Ireland and her daughter-in-law, Grace, the mother of her grandsons, is from Subic Bay in the Philippines. Her oldest son travels the world whenever he can get away from his work.
“I love church and I love, love talking about God, Jesus, Spirit. I am a very good listener and I will always be available to listen if you need a confidential ear."
Sally can be reached on her cell phone at 778-875-0311 or by email at smcshane77@gmail.com.
“My deepest love and concern in ministry is for children and youth. I am excited to see where the Spirit will take us.”
